Chorea

Chorea is a movement disorder where a person experiences sudden, irregular, and uncontrollable movements. These movements are often described as dance-like, flowing from one muscle group to another. Chorea may occur due to conditions like Huntington’s disease, rheumatic fever (Sydenham’s chorea), or certain metabolic and vascular disorders.

Common Symptoms

Sudden, jerky, unpredictable movements of the face, arms, or legs
Difficulty maintaining posture or balance
Trouble with speaking, chewing, or swallowing if facial muscles are involved
