Spondylosis

About Spondylosis

Spondylosis is age‑related wear and tear of the spine, often affecting the neck (cervical) or lower back (lumbar). Over time, disks between the vertebrae lose height and produce bone spurs. This can cause stiffness, pain, and reduced flexibility. In some cases, bone growth may press on nerves, leading to numbness or weakness in the arms or legs.

Symptoms

  • Chronic neck or lower back pain
  • Stiffness in the spine, worse after rest
  • Pain or numbness radiating to arms or legs
  • Reduced flexibility and range of motion
  • Occasional muscle spasms
